What an interesting season. I see a similar one next season. It had home win streaks ..home losing streaks. Colin Wilson a no show during the season but a star in the playoffs (still trying to figure that one out) Mike Ribero a good season but a no show in the playoffs ? And how do you bust your balls in two playoff series but fail to show up in a second round game seven ! ? Milwaukee wins their division with a strong season and loses 3-0 with a first round playoff exit? And we we all like to forget about Jimmy Vesey gate?
To sum up this season .......? ? ? ......

Here is how you sum up this season.. The Good, the Bad and the Vesey.
The Good - second round of the playoffs
The Bad - game seven exit in the second round
The Vesey Effect - Will Flip follow? Who backs up pekka? Roberio stay?

Trade Josi or Weber to Edmonton for anyone not named McDavid.

Please.

After the way Weber played in game 7, he would fit right into Edmonton's line up....

One poopty game doesn't make a career....and we can only dream of a game 1 let alone a game 7.

If I were GM I would work something out to send Weber to Edmonton. It would cost ya though

The Preds are a tough team to play against for sure and they reminded me of MANY past Sharks teams in the second round. Essentially one scoring line will not get you through a series and I think that was the problem. I hope they get rid of that heartless wonder Ribero, because the rest of the team plays with a lot of heart. Arvidsson is a star in the making and Josi has so much talent.
From a guy that saw them 4 times in the past 2 1/2 weeks, they are not far away...you guys took us to 7 games so I think a few tweaks would make them unstoppable.

I'm glad you're not the GM. The money already shelled out and the recapture clause if Weber retires before his contract is up is enough reason to keep him on the Preds' roster until he retires.

Btw, Sharks fans have been tremendous to talk to during the 2nd round. Unlike so many fans from other teams, it was really intelligent, good-natured conversation. I'm rooting for you guys to go all the way.

You're right, the first round exit every year (with an VERY occasional 2nd round exit) til he retires sounds much better.

Not only will you be losing a stellar defenseman, you'll be losing his offensive production as well. You'll have a harder time stopping goals from going in and a harder time scoring. I see how you have determined that we get better by moving Weber.

So your suggestion is, do the same, expect better results....

Makes way more sense. And no you wouldn't have problems replacing his offense, because you would trade for.... drum roll..... offense?!?!?!?!

He was -7 in the regular season and -7 in the playoffs. Worst +/- of any defenseman on the team. Yes, I know he plays more minutes and more 1/2 lines. But I don't think he is impossible to replace. We have a good young D core without him.

Bottom line, you have to give to get in this league and the formula we have now isn't working.

Agree 100%. Sharks fans were great and Kings fans during the 1st and 2nd rounds were great too.
Thanks !

I have a bad memory, the preds couldn't over pay to keep Joel Ward but pay for Stahlberg and Nystrom to go away? Would it be cheaper to have kept Wardo?

Am I the only one that is not really watching the playoffs - post Preds disappointment maybe?? I have always watched most of the playoffs over the years, but not now since the Preds were eliminated. I watch a period or two here and there, but the drive to watch a full game is beyond me this year. What a bummer.
